Reinventing your brand with luxury business stationery

Effective print marketing business stationery printing | kaizen print dublin

Making the shift to a brand that is synonymous with quality can be a difficult challenge for many brands. While all brands like to think of themselves as providing a high-quality service or a high-quality product, there are very few brands who can say that they get it right 100% of the time. One tried and tested method of improving customer perception is to prioritise activity that is not simply single-minded towards getting the quick sale. Brands that play the long game when it comes to providing quality inevitably reap the rewards in the loyalty that customers and clients show them as a result. Luxury business stationery is a great example of this. Here’s how luxury business stationery can help to reinvent your brand.

Put your brand in your audience’s hands

Branded stationery is a great way to put your brand quite literally in the hands of your target audience. By going the extra mile and opting for a higher quality product and a high-quality print finish you can ensure that the daily contact your customers have with your brand is a positive one.

Be Useful

If you provide a practical use or a solution to a problem for your customers then you are automatically going to produce a feeling of positivity towards your brand. Consciously or otherwise your customers appreciate anything that helps to make there day to day lives that little bit easier.

Be Indispensable

The next step is to make sure that your business stationery is indispensible. While all forms of branded merchandise is a good thing, it makes good sense to opt for high-quality stationery options and a high-quality finish for a number of reasons. For one, first impressions count. If your customers can pick up a similar quality cheap alternative to your stationery then they are unlikely to put a great deal of value on it. By ensuring your stationery is of high quality, on the other hand, you can reduce the likelihood of it being thrown away, misplaced or replaced without a second thought.

Pay attention to detail

Ultimately if you want to give the impression of being a luxury or high quality brand then you need to pay attention to the minor details. It is the seemingly minor details that build a bigger picture in the mind of your customer about what your brand represents. Luxury business stationery tells anyone that has contact with it that you care about the transaction. It also tells the user of your stationery that your brand should be considered as valuable and that it is not cheap or disposable.

So what makes the difference?

Attention to detail is important in all aspects of your business. From deciding what to prioritise to the finer details of each project. At Kaizen Print we work tirelessly to perfect our print and design work for clients and the difference shows in the final results. While of course, the quality of the stationery itself makes a difference to the overall perception of your stationery, it is also about the finer details of the design. Things like what kind of finish is used on the products, the design of the logo and the placement of text are all integral to the final product.

The Key Elements of a Great Brochure

booklet printing kaizen print
brochure printing, kaizen print dublin

What makes for a great brochure and what are the key elements to getting it right? These are the two questions any marketer will ask before starting a campaign or project that involves the printing of brochures. At Kaizen Print we have worked with numerous brands helping them produce quality brochures that stand out from the crowd. With each project, we have encountered these two questions and with each project there are some key considerations. First off, what makes for a great brochure?

Be consistent

No matter what font, style or tone you opt for, you’ll want to make sure of one thing. That you’re consistent. There’s nothing worse than a brochure that moves between multiple different styles or themes. If you’re looking to create a sales-focused brochure then go for a salesy theme. If you’re looking to sell a lifestyle then go for something a little more subtle.

Choose your content carefully

Space is limited and attention is short. Whatever service or product it is that you offer, you no doubt will have more ideas than you can feasibly fit into a brochure. At Kaizen Print we meet this problem time and time again with businesses wanting to throw the kitchen sink at their brochure. While you are creating your brochure you’ll probably need to go over and over and over it until you are happy. And that’s fine. You’ll need to make some tough calls, but eventually, you’ll get to your most streamlined and effective final draft.

Plan Ahead

Before you start any brochure design project, the most important thing to do is plan. You may be pressed for time and under pressure to complete a project to a deadline, but to begin designing your brochure without a very clear idea of what each page should contain is a mistake.

The unplanned approach will inevitably lead to more time required in the long run. By planning ahead you can rest assured that all parties that need to be involved have had their say and that all stakeholders (including yourself) are content with what you expect to achieve.

Now that we broadly understand what makes for a great brochure, we can drill down deeper into each individual element. So what are the specific elements that make for a great brochure?

A great cover

A great cover can make or break your brochure. This may go without saying but your cover is the most important page in your brochure. Contrary to the claim that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, in reality, (rightly or wrongly) everyone judges books by their covers. And the same goes for brochures. If your brochure doesn’t compel your audience to read further then it has failed in its number one purpose.

Use of space

The temptation may be to fill space with sales messages if it is not being used for another purpose. This approach, however, can be counterproductive. Effective use of space within your brochure can work to your advantage and can, in many ways, sell your products and services better than any sales message.

Product organisation

You should have a set style to the way in which you present each product that you offer. As your audience read through the brochure they will then immediately grasp the layout. Your objective should be to make it as easy as possible for your audience to read and understand your message within as little time as is feasibly possible.

Photography

Your images and photography can make or break your brochure. One of the key advantages of using brochures is in the use of imagery. By ensuring that your photos are high resolution and that they sell your products and services in their best light, you can make sure that you put your best foot forward.

Corporate Brochures – Are they Still Relevant?

booklet printing kaizen print

For businesses working the trade rather than directly to the consumer, there are a few differences in approach. Businesses advertising their services to other businesses tend to assume a certain level of understanding in regards to the area in which they are working.

For instance, a supplier of chefs equipment might go into more detail about the knives they sell than a supplier selling directly to the public. A chef might want to know the knife blade length, the type of edge, handle material and so on, whereas the average home cook might not require so much information.

brochure printing Dublin

Another difference between businesses supplying the consumer versus businesses supplying other businesses is in their approach to marketing. Typically, B2B suppliers have been slower to adapt to digitalising their online presence. Many trade-based suppliers have relied upon existing customer relationships to build-up and maintain business. This being said, the vast majority of trade-based businesses now have a website and rely heavily upon it for raising awareness of their services. So where does this corporate brochure fit into all of this?

Corporate brochures versus website

If all of your products and services can be displayed on your website, is there any need to repeat this information in a print brochure? Websites can now display products in near-perfect resolution at a 360-degree angle that can be flipped and reversed, saved and moved at the click of a button or the tap of a touchscreen. So why would there be any requirement to see this in a printed format? Surely this would require a whole lot of wasted time and effort, right? Wrong. Printed corporate brochures still have a place for businesses, and here’s why…

They can be read like a book or magazine

Websites are great if you want to purchase something quickly and don’t want to hang around for very long. They don’t, however, come so naturally if you want to spend a little bit of time browsing. A corporate brochure is intended to be read in more detail and to have a little more time spent with it. A brochure can be picked up whenever the recipient wants to look at it, and it can remain on a desk waiting for a moment of distraction. A website, on the other hand, serves a more functional purpose. Your customers are unlikely to look you up while passing a bit of time. More likely they will think of your website when they need a quick purchase of something. A corporate brochure offers a more personal approach than this.

They can be nice to look at

There’s something about high-resolution photography in print that is difficult to match when viewing on a screen. While phones and desktops offer fantastic opportunities for displaying images and engaging videos, it’s just not quite the same as a really great image in a brochure.

They can be used as points of reference

If your customers supply your products directly to their customers then your brochure might be an excellent point of reference for them. Similarly, it may provide a means for your customers to communicate what you have to offer with stakeholders within their own business. Whatever it is, corporate brochures are made for sharing and communicating and tend to live for longer in the minds of your customers than a link to a website.

Wedding Stationery Printing in Dublin

wedding stationery design / kaizen print Ireland

At Kaizen Print we are experts at creating outstanding printed materials for both businesses and direct to the public. And as a Dublin-based company, we have helped countless local couples create the perfect wedding day with stunning looking wedding stationery. Our many years of experience of creating printed materials for a variety of different purposes has meant that we have honed our skills to produce stunning results. From experience, we also know that the couples that have come to us have felt reassured by having a local printer on-hand. Whether it has been to provide guidance and help towards wedding stationery design, help with understanding their venue, or simply to turn around work quickly – we’re here to help.

About wedding stationery

So what does wedding stationery actually mean? What printed artwork will you need for your wedding and why is it important that you get it right? From our work with local Dublin couples and those from further afield, we’ve put together numerous printed pieces of wedding stationery and have put this brief guide together to get you started.

Before the wedding

As brides and grooms-to-be know, the wedding experience does not begin and end with the day itself. Half the excitement of a wedding is in planning for the big day and in the memories that you can keep after. And the same can be said for your guests. When planning your wedding stationery you’ll want to pay as much attention to detail on your presentation before and after your wedding as you do for the day itself. It is by considering the whole picture that you can truly create the very best experience for all involved.

Here are some examples of printed wedding stationery that you should consider investing in to send out before your wedding;

  • Save the date cards
  • Wedding Invitations
  • RSVP Cards
  • Wedding Gift List Card
  • Information Cards

Weddings are all about tradition. And, while you may want to break with tradition in certain parts of your wedding, it is worthwhile holding on to a few traditions such as these. Save the dates, invitations and RSVP’s all help to not only let your attendees know of all the relevant details, but they also help to build excitement. There’s nothing quite like a printed card to signal that this is a special occasion and not simply one that could be organised over Whatsapp.

At Kaizen Print we can help with all manner of creative flourishes when it comes to these printed articles. Whether you want something traditional or contemporary, subtle and sophisticated or colourful ad vibrant, we have the perfect cards for you. Foiling, in particular, is one of our favourite print techniques. By adding foiling you can that extra little something special to your cards. Alternatively, or in addition, you may want to emboss your text, or add bespoke material to add texture. There really is no limit to the possibilities!

During the wedding

There are a number of pieces of wedding stationery that you may want to consider for your wedding day. Some of these include;

  • Order of service booklets
  • Table Plans
  • Table name cards
  • Place cards
  • Event menu cards

As any wedding planner will tell you, it is the attention to detail that really makes the difference. Your wedding stationery is a prime example of this. As well as being there to provide a functional purpose, your wedding stationery also tells your guests a little something about you. It is there to reflect your personality as a couple and as individuals. At Kaizen Print our advice when it comes to these elements of your wedding would be to be yourselves. It’s your special day – and it’s supposed to be fun right? So long as you keep a consistent theme, you ensure that the print itself is high quality, and the material is informative and legible – the content of the design is really up to you.

After the wedding

  • Thank you cards

One of the most important elements of any wedding is the thank you cards. Your guests will have come from far and wide. They will also probably have donated some of their hard-earned cash towards either a present or a donation. Commemorating this effort can feel like a burden when you are required to get back to so many people. Thank you cards are the perfect solution for this.

Kaizen Print

As with all of your wedding stationery, the message and design you opt for is a very personal choice and one that we at Kaizen Print can help you with. Whatever your preference, something personalised (maybe including a photo of the day), something beautiful looking, or something a little out there or funny, we’re on hand to help you get the best results.

Whether you are from Dublin or further afield we can help you to create the perfect wedding. To find out more you can visit our weddings page, get in touch via our contact form or call  us on 019 036119.

Preparing Your Annual Report for Print

Print Marketing | Kaizen Print Ireland

It’s come to the end of the financial year and you’ve been asked to provide an annual report. Sound familiar? Don’t panic! Here’s our guide to preparing your annual report for print.

Plan ahead

An annual report can be a big project. Understanding how long each part of your report should take to create and what you’ll need to complete it is critical. If you want to make sure you complete your report on time you’ll need to follow these steps;

Plan for each section of your report

The last thing you’ll want to do is to go to print and realise that there is something that you haven’t covered. Start by putting a plan in place as to every section that will be required.

Put expected completion times in your calendar

For this, you’ll need to know the process of going from draft to design to print. How long do you expect each part of the report creation process to take? By putting your plan in a calendar you can take control of the project and make sure it runs smoothly.

Be conservative with your estimations

If there is one piece of advice we can give you it is to give yourself plenty of time. It can be very easy to encounter issues along the way. Maybe you don’t have access to a particular report that you thought you did, or you get an ad-hoc request to add something in by another stakeholder. Whatever it is, invariably something will arise that you won’t have planned for.

Communicate effectively

As well as being well organised and planning ahead, you’ll want to also ensure that you communicate effectively. Whether it is with fellow stakeholders within your business or the designer that you are working with excellent communication is key.

Working with stakeholders

Your annual report will require a team effort. You are unlikely to know in great depth every report for every department. Each stakeholder that you work with will keep a close eye on the particular areas that they are responsible for. Keeping everyone on track and in the loop is essential to getting your report right.

Working with a designer

Your designer is unlikely to know the ins and outs of your report. What may seem obvious to you can go straight over others heads. Remember that a designer will be coming to your report cold, so make sure you label every section clearly and give a clear brief.

Keep everything in one place

Working with so many different stakeholders and with so many different data sources and content can be a headache. You’ll want to avoid the age-old problem of emails flying all over the place and contradicting spreadsheets. To ensure you have a single source of truth you’ll want to ensure the following;

Fact check the reports

Depending on the size of the report and the time you have available fact-checking every element of it may not be realistic. This process should be controlled by each department throughout the year to ensure weekly and monthly reports are accurate. You’ll want to do a final check before it goes into your report, however. Ask each department to thoroughly checked over the data they are responsible for and then ask them to proof it too.

Have a single source of truth

Having multiple spreadsheets flying around can soon get out of hand. You’ll want to consider having everything in a google document or excel sheet. It is also very likely that various elements of your report will need to be amended. Having a digital report that is easily updateable will ensure that you don’t leave in incorrect or out of date information.

At Kaizen Print we have worked with many businesses to create annual reports. To find out how we can help, get in touch via our contact form or by calling 019 036119.

The Difference in a Leaflet & a Flyer

Outdoor Event Leaflet Printing Dublin | Kaizen Print Ireland

At Kaizen Print we often get asked the question, “What’s the difference between a leaflet and a flyer?”.

The names are often interchanged which can make for a fair bit of confusion. So what is the difference between a leaflet and a flyer? Well, the short answer is that there isn’t really a difference at all. There is no right or wrong use of either flyer or leaflet and interchanging the different terms is perfectly acceptable. This being said, when we talk about leaflets and flyers we still tend to think of them as being slightly different.

Here’s a brief rundown of the typical differences between the two terms;

Leaflets

Leaflets are often thought of as being…

▪️ Informative

When we think of the term leaflet, we tend to expect a certain amount of content. We might expect a leaflet to go into some detail about what it is selling or advertising.

▪️ Offered as takeaways

Many people also think of leaflets as being left or presented somewhere to be taken away. Because we tend to think of leaflets as offering more information, we also tend to think of them as being on display. Whether it is in a shop, at a bus station, or in a hair salon, leaflets can be left for customers to find out a little more about the products or services available.

▪️ Folded and with multiple pages

We might also expect a leaflet to have multiple pages for customers to flick through.

Flyers

Flyers are often thought to be…

▪️ Advertising

Many people think of leaflets as providing helpful information or as helping to educate others as to a subject or event. Flyers, on the other hand, tend to be thought of as advertising an event or a sale. We tend to associate flyers as being a more sales-focused form of advertising.

▪️ Single or double-sided

Unlike leaflets, there is often an expectation of flyers that they will be single or double-sided. This simple format is considered typical of a flyer and lends itself nicely to the idea of a quick piece of advertising.

▪️ Handed around in person

We often say flyers when we think of people hand-delivering or passing around information. There is a tendency especially to think of flyers in relation to things like events or 2 for 1 drinks deals outside of bars and clubs for example.

▪️ Takeaways

These shorter forms of advertising can also be left out as takeaways. Unlike leaflets, however, we might expect them to spread out on a table rather than neatly stacked in a display cabinet.

As a printer, it is important for us to know the terms our clients use and what they think leaflets and flyers mean. In truth, however, a leaflet and a flyer are one and the same thing. The term leaflet is just as valid for a brief double-sided A5 print as it is for a folded leaflet. Similarly, a flyer can also be a more content-heavy and informative folded print.

Either way, leaflets and flyers offer numerous advantages. Whatever your business or organisation, leaflets can help you to engage your audience in a meaningful way. Unlike digital forms of advertising, leaflets and flyers offer a tactile and real piece of physical advertising. Your recipients are also more likely to actually read your message when it is printed in front of them and will spend more time considering it.

At Kaizen Print we have worked with all kinds of businesses big and small to create stand-out leaflets that get real results. To find out if you can benefit from leaflet and flyer printing you can visit our leaflets & flyers page or get in touch via our contact form.

Our Complete Self-Adhesive Vinyl Guide

vinyl wrap printing dublin. Kaizen print

When we say Vinyl Wraps, you may not instantly know what we are talking about. Put simply, Vinyl Wraps are a type of material primarily used for advertising and branding that can be added to a variety of different surfaces.

Vinyl wraps can be used in a combination of the following ways;

  • On internal or external walls
  • On either side of a window
  • As signage of various different shapes and sizes
  • As car advertising

Vinyl Wraps offer a number of different advantages which make them ideal for these purposes. You might want to invest in self-adhesive vinyl if you require

Outdoor Advertising

Firstly, the Vinyl material is extremely hardwearing and durable, which makes it ideal for use outside. You can take advantage of self-adhesive vinyl in a number of ways for outdoor advertising. This could include any one of the following uses;

On the exterior side of windows

Whether you run a shop, a salon, or an office, you can choose to display vinyl on your windows. Displaying key messages in your shop window or storefront is a fantastic way to draw in customers off the street.

On your doors or shutters

We don’t tend to think of doors and shutters as being spaces where we can display advertising and branding. With self-adhesive vinyl however it is possible to make use of this otherwise wasted opportunity. Vinyl wraps are a great way to display your brand or key messaging on your doors and shutters.

Outdoor signage

Because of its durability self-adhesive vinyl is also a perfectly valid option for outdoor signage. Your message will remain clear and looking good for a long time when you use self-adhesive vinyl to display your signs.

Vehicle branding

Self-adhesive vinyl is often thought of in relation to vehicle signage. Again, because of its durability, it is an ideal choice for use on your cars or vans.

Branding

Whether you use it indoors or out, self-adhesive vinyl is a fantastic way to get your brand message out there. Vinyl wraps come in virtually any size and shape that you want. This added flexibility enables a great deal of scope for displaying big and bold messaging for everyone to see.

Feature walls

Whatever industry you work in or whatever working environment is your base, virtually every workspace can benefit from a feature wall. Feature walls improve the interior design of your workspace. They offer something different and interesting within your premises. And they can both increase employee satisfaction and improve awareness of your brand among your target audience.

They don’t have to be permanent

Having the ability to change your mind or change direction in business is a key asset. While we set out expecting the business to go in one way, invariably it can end up taking another unforeseen direction. The same goes for your branding. Self-adhesive vinyl is ideal for these circumstances. It is both a long-term solution and one that can be changed easily should you need it on a more temporary basis. Using vinyl means that you can simply take your branding up if you need to. If you were to use paint for your interior design, on the other hand, this would not be such a simple transition.

Design possibilities

Vinyl offers a fantastic base for all manner of different designs. As self-adhesive vinyl gives a really great finish, the options for both material and design are virtually limitless. Whether you want a matt or gloss finish, or you want to experiment with texture or colour you can create some truly distinctive designs with self-adhesive vinyl as your base material.
