Designing Drinks Lists, Drinks Menus or Cocktail Lists
When designing a drinks list, it’s always prudent to bear in mind the end-user. For the most part, your customers may be reading your drinks list after one or two beverages. With this in mind it is considerate to add larger fonts and spacing than you would on say a flyer or poster. Be mindful of your font weight, as a fine font may be harder to read at small sizes.
Outputting your drinks list or cocktail list for print is the same as any other project. Please ensure you include 3mm bleed on all sides of your document. Convert any RGB images to CMYK and when setting up for print, please select high resolution print ready PDF setting. With the majority of drink lists being multiple page booklets, we do ask for these to be saved as single pages within a PDF. You may hear a designer or printer talk about spreads, but this is unnecessary when printing with Kaizen Print.
Recommended Specification of Drinks Lists for Printing
If you’ve used our printing services before you will know that we’re a stickler for quality. We will never knowingly print a project that we would not accept ourselves. If we believe your specification could be more effective or efficient we will make our recommendations to ensure the best success of your project.
When ordering drinks lists or cocktail menus we always recommend a heavy cover with lamination on both sides as this will protect the booklet somewhat from the wears and tears of customer use. The inner pages should be printed on a 150gsm or 170gsm paper as this would be most common way of keeping the costs low, while the quality remains high.
