Hospitality Print Marketing Options

Drinks List Booklet Printing

Printing services for the hospitality sector is vital.  For a start, they advertise the business.  In addition, your print marketing represents your brand to your guests and potential customers.  Both restaurants and hotels have their own particular needs in relation to their hospitality print marketing.  Let’s look at each sector and the main types of print marketing for each.

Restaurants

Virtually every restaurant requires hospitality print marketing.  This is to advertise its brand and give the restaurant a distinct ambiance and feel.  It also informs customers of what’s in store for their visit.  Here are some of the major restaurant printing services that assist in creating a distinct brand for your restaurant.

Menus

When you think of printed materials for restaurants, the first and foremost thought is the menu.  Every restaurant needs to let their customers know what’s on offer.  However, a menu shouldn’t be cobbled together hastily.  Menus need to be designed carefully.  The type of paper that you use and fonts utilised are some considerations.  In addition, the layout and flow of the menu is also important.

In addition to the main menu, you may want to create takeout menus for customers to take home and table tent cards at each table.  Table tent cards are brilliant for showcasing new or seasonal dishes, promote any discounts or promotional offers you have on.  However, ensure all your printing services are aligned to assist in creating a cohesive brand.

Established restaurants will want to make some regular changes in an effort to continuously improve, and avoid going stale for some.  In addition, it is likely you will be updating your menu regularly or update your design to something more representative.

Business Cards

Restaurant business cards do more work than you may think.  They are a simple tool to advertise your business.  They are compact and remarkable easy to distribute.  In addition, they provide contact information to make a reservation and the restaurant’s location all making it easier for customers to access your premises.

However, you can add an extra dimension to your business card.  They can double up as a loyalty card or as a coupon.  The front of your card can have your contact information.  The back can be stamped to encourage repeat visits or feature a discount code and distribute the cards locally.

Hotels

Hotels need printed materials for a number of reasons.  These materials strive to ensure your guests enjoy their hotel say and remember it long after.  In addition, printed materials can help the hotel with constructive feedback so they can always be working on their performance.

Business Cards

For most hotels, hospitality business cards are placed at the front desk.  They are an excellent form of hospitality marketing.  Guests can take them at their leisure, therefore leaving a subtle and positive impression on them.

Your hotel may want to consider adding a QR Code to help boost your web presence.  However, it is vitally important to create attractive cards that will attract people to pick them up.  Some necessary design decisions include choosing between glossy and matte business cards, fonts and overall layout.

Hotel Stationery

Hotel stationery includes notepads, pens, printed envelopes and paper printed with letterhead.  While its prevalence has diminished, hotel stationery is still common in many hotels.

Hotel stationery is a great marketing tool.  It creates a level of exposure for your hotel’s brand.  Anytime customers utilise your stationery you’re advertising is working.  In addition, it adds a level of high-end professionalism.  It also leaves a better impression of your business with hotel guests.

Hotel Comment Cards

In an aim to continuously improve, hotel comment cards are a gateway to guest concerns or complaints.  Find out what you are doing right and more importantly any challenges that can be improved.  These offer a level of inspiration even in disappointed guests – if they feel the hotel is taking their concerns seriously.  In addition, guests who filled their comment cards with positive feedback are more likely to tell others about their experiences.  Therefore, hotel comment cards are strategic marketing tools for your establishment.

Menus

Most hotels with room-service will need a menu for each room.  If you have a restaurant in the hotel, you may consider placing a take-out menu in the rooms and reception areas to raise awareness.

In the end, your overall menu design should be carefully considered.  You should ensure you choose the right paper, font and the overall layout of the menus.  You want to make your guests hungry and want to eat in your premises.

Local Guides

Show some love for your community by providing hotel guests with printed guest guides.  These guides can highlight local attractions, restaurants or events in the area.  These guides are great for helping guests engage with the local area.  In addition, it showcases everything exciting around your hotel.  This has the potential to entice guests to return and may experience more of the excitement.

For a business, making sales and revenue is critical to its survival.  That is in addition to providing a product or service customers need.  However the challenge lies in how to effectively boost sales.  One sure fire way to achieve this goal is to continually expand your market.  Every way to expand this market involves some form of marketing.  Marketing is critical to the success of any business.  Successful marketing will reach those untapped depths of the market.  Therefore, as a business you need to decide how best to reach the untapped market.  Digital marketing is one sure way to reach a wide array of potential customers.  However, traditional and effective print marketing still plays a pivotal role.  It remains a valuable tool to reach and resonate with the masses.

Digital vs. Print Marketing

It would be easy to invest your marketing budget and time into digital marketing.  No doubt there are many benefits to digital marketing.  The ability to reach a massive audience in not time with relative ease is a benefit.  Tracking the performance of your digital assets is another.  This allows you to optimise future campaigns accordingly.  However, are you really setting yourself up for success?  Digital may be widespread but is it really reaching and resonating?  Studies show that a large number of companies are more trusting of traditional print marketing.  In addition, not everyone is tech-savvy or even comfortable doing business on their devices.  Therefore, ensure you are set up for success.  Reach a massive audience with a balance3d campaign.  Combine a healthy digital campaign with a robust print campaign for optimal results.

Effective Print Marketing Tools

There are many print marketing tools at your disposal.  All of them will work to expand your market reach.  Businesses and organisations will need to continue to utilise print marketing to effectively communicate with the market.  However, there are some tools that are more effective at resonation with potential customers.  Let’s look at some top examples.

Business Cards

Business cards are your silent pocket-sized salesperson.  They are an essential form of business stationery.  In addition, they make the perfect introduction to you and your brand.  A creative card design can be very effective in grabbing attention.

Business cards are small sized cards containing general information about you and the business you work for.  You can include whatever additional information you like.  Your logo or a product photo is a couple of options.  However, in order for this small wonder to work big magic, you want your card to be memorable.

Brochures

Brochures are essential for telling the story of any business, product or service.  They sell your brand when you are not around.  These paper documents give a history and overview of your company and/or product offering.  Brochures are highly stylised in order to attract attention.  Your brochure should be as exhaustive as possible, without being exhausting.  In other words, ensure your brochure is informative and attractive so your brand comes off the same.

Letterhead

Letterhead may seem unimportant and not impactful in terms of marketing.  However, letterhead is vital for your business.  You may not realise how much it says of your business.  This branded form for communication lends a professional air to your business communication.  A professionally designed letterhead that aligns to your brand will send a professional message.  In addition, your business will be seen as credible and long-term.  Letterhead that is well designed will leave a lasting impression on your clients and customers’ minds.  In addition, it will help customers recall your business in the future.

Flyers

Flyers are one of the most powerful marketing tools you can use.  They are a form of paper advertisement essentially.  You can use them to convey significant information related to events, product launches or even topical awareness.  Flyers generally are one-time usable and handed out in public places.  Therefore, you are having face to face contact with potential customers.  Physically handing people a flyer increases the chances of your message resonating.  It also gives the opportunity for customer feedback.

Shelf Wobblers

Shelf wobblers might seem like an odd choice for effective print marketing.  However, they are one of the most effective marketing tools if you are in the retail business.  They are brilliant at getting noticed in a sea of sameness.  Retail shelves can be so uniform.  However, a shelf wobbler literally hangs off the shelf.  Therefore, their presence alone attracts attention!  They are perfect for calling out any pricing promotions, exclusivity or any other attractive qualities worth shouting out.  Jump out and grab customers’ attention.  Some of them need and want the help!

Effective Print Marketing Means Quality

Traditional print marketing alone isn’t going to propel your brand to the stratosphere.  One thing that should be kept in mind is a professional design and printing with high quality materials can make the world of difference.  IN other words, the same quality and care you put into your business or service needs to be applied to your marketing.  Proper thought and consideration should be invested into all your marketing campaigns, print or digital.  In addition, good quality materials will show the professionalism of your business and will keep your marketing message alive.

Letterhead Necessities

Letterhead is used for any official communication from a business or organisation.  It is a vital piece of business stationery.  However, letterhead is not some piece of paper for letter-writing.  It is one of the more critical elements of your brand.  In many cases, it is the first impression of a business or organisation.  Therefore, ensure your letterhead is professional and gives the right impression.  Some potential customers will assume the professionalism of your company from your letterhead.  Ensure you make the most of all your business stationery.  Here are some important elements to keep in mind when designing the concept.

Legal Requirements for Letterhead

Believe it or not, you just can’t slap what you want on your letterhead.  There are critical legal requirements for your letterhead.  As a business you will want to ensure your stationery is compliant.  In addition, you don’t want to incur any expenditure that could have been avoided.

In Section 151 of the Companies Act of 2014, it is clearly called out on what information is necessary on your letterhead:

The Name of the Company

This shouldn’t have to be enshrined in a government act.  However, your letterhead must have your organisation’s name.  In addition, it should be followed with the correct designation:  Limited (Ltd) or Designated Activity Company (DAC) and so on.

The Directors

Letterhead should include the forename (or initials) and the surname of each company director.  In addition, in the event of any non-Irish directors, their nationality should be called out.

Legal Form of the Company

Place of Registration

Your letterhead must include where your business is registered.  Chances are if you are a Dublin organisation, you would be registered in Dublin, Ireland.

Registered Number

This can be attained from the certificate of incorporation.

Registered Office Address

You need to indicate the registered address of the company.

Additional Information

In addition, if your company is exempt from using the company type, the letterhead must state that you are a limited liability company.  If you are including share capital, it must be paid up issued shared capital.

If you are trading under a business name, the business name must also be included along with the company information.  Finally, if the company is being would up, your letterhead must have this stated.

Additional Letterhead Callouts

We’ve just looked at what legally you must call out on your letterhead.  However, we don’t end it there.  There are some additional elements, while not mandatory, should be included.  This information is more customer friendly and is what the casual customer is looking for.  However, the legal requirements do prove the legitimacy of your company.

Contact Information

Your letterhead should include your office address and any other additional contact information.  Phone number and emails are key pieces of contact information to include.  They give your recipients the methods to access your business directly.  If the fax machine is still part of your business vocabulary, include your fax number as well.

Web & Social Presence

Everybody is online in one form or the other.  In the digital age it is ever so important to include your digital presence.  Many potential customers will take a quick visit to your website and review the contents.  In addition, include all of your social media handles.  Recipients will have a quick and easy look and could possible follow these channels.  This is especially vital in attracting and retaining the younger audience.

REFRESH YOUR COMMUNICATION WITH LETTERHEADS

REFRESH YOUR COMMUNICATION WITH LETTERHEADS

Email, Zoom, WhatsApp, Teams… love them or hate them, these instantaneous communication platforms are essential for the daily functioning of your organisation. Unfortunately, the universal popularity of these platforms has shaped a disengaged and impersonal connotation for communication. Often the sincerity of an email can be lost in the cloud of unorganised inboxes or fail to portray the personalised message intended.

Incidentally, how can you successfully catch the attention of a business or customer, dodging the subscription emails, missed calls and unread messages? Go back to our roots and send a letter.

It can be said that communication has gone full circle. What was once a typical and often overlooked form of communication, is now an attention-grabbing point of contact.

Therefore, it is paramount for your organisation to jump at the chance to stand out, communicating via letter beyond the obligatory invoices and formal letters by acknowledging achievements, holidays and other important measures. This not only promotes personalised engagement but provides a vital opportunity to showcase brand identity through the use of LETTERHEADS.

THE IMPORTANCE OF LETTERHEADS

BRAND IDENTITY

In order to modernise the traditional method of sending a letter, letterheads are an essential tool for businesses. First impressions are key and the presence of a letterhead portrays professionalism, increases credibility and brand awareness.

A brilliant letterhead will contain the relevant information to have straightforward and direct contact for your company. Trust is a paramount feature for an organisation and the presence of a letterhead will promote this, showcasing company reliability and capability. The goal of any organisation is to maintain brand recognition, encompassing their logo, their slogan and the services they offer. Letterheads promote this, targeting clients at every opportunity.

QUALITY LETTERHEADS

Additionally, we are accustomed to communicating through modern networking platforms, all of which provide a ‘digital letterhead’ in their messaging functions, including company name, logo, bio and contact details. This information not only promotes brand identity, but is a confirmation of trustworthiness. Therefore, when sending a physical letter, this should be no different.

Furthermore, investing in a high-quality letterhead will provide a premium reputation for your organisation, enhancing customer value, confidence and investment. At Kaizen, it is suggested that letterheads are printed using a laser guaranteed paper, ensuring ink does not run when you overprint on an office printer. As previously discussed, the act of sending a letter in the modern day, beyond required invoices, is a rarity. To showcase the quality of your company, it is paramount that letters withhold a premium delivery, incorporating high quality letterhead paper, and overall, an exciting and engaging experience for your client.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF WITH LETTERHEADS

Letterheads promote a graphic demonstration of a company, the services they offer and their purpose; therefore, it is important to create a standout design that will effectively introduce and impress.

When designing a letterhead for your company, it is paramount to condense all relevant information into an understandable and eye-catching design. Letterheads perform exceptionally well strategically placed at top of the page, ensuring the company details grab the attention of the reader prior to the information in the letter.

Additionally, the option is there to have a letterhead containing both a header and footer. The benefits of this will not only open the communication with your brand identity but will also finalise the letter, providing a brief synopsis for the reader, prompting their brand recognition once again.

It is advised that a professional letterhead encompasses:

  • Company Name
  • Company Logo
  • Contact Details
  • Address
  • Email / Website
